Revocation - 'Pull The Plug' (Death Cover)

Revocation is awesome. There's absolutely no way to get around it. Mormotron feels they sound too much like Darkest Hour, Well they might have a bit of DH in them but I feel the two bands are completely different. Revocation is currently recording a new album and if its anything like the last we are all in for a treat!

Revocation "Pull The Plug" by Decibel Magazine

Live R.E.M.

Is it just me or does Micheal Stipe look like he was going to cry when he was giving the intro to the song? I'm actually kinda a fan of the song. It doesn't have the normal irritating R.E.M. sound. I might just have to check out the album 'Collapse In Now' which is coming very soon.

Francesqa - 'All I Had'

Got to love the cookie cutter bands. Well, you don't have to... I don't. This songs just a little too..... well perfect. Not in a good way either. Understand? Me neither.

Devil Sold His Soul - 'The Disappointment'

Song's awesome. I've not listened to the album much but I understand that the band has a pretty big following among the blogger sites. They released an album last year called 'Blessed and Cursed' you should check it out if you like what you hear.

Sleigh Bells New Video

An interesting choice for a video but I guess it works. Sorry for the video ad, the only one hosting it at this time is stupid MTV.

Eternal Summers - 'Safe at Home' New Video

This song was taken from their new album Silver which is out now.

TesseracT - 'The Impossible' - Concealing Fate Part III Live Video

I've made it no secret I have a extreme love for TesseracT. Their EP that was released in 2009 made my top albums in 2010 the only album from 2009 to do so. This year they are scheduled to release a new album and apparently this live DVD. So looks like 2011 is shaping out to be the year of TesseracT.

New Feelies - 'Should Be Gone' New Song

Apparently this bands been around for quite some time but is just now getting around to releasing a new album. This song is from that album entitled 'Here Before'. Its a happy track that definitely seems to be made by a more mature band. The new album with be released April 12th.

The Agonist - Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep

Dang i've seen some hot metal chicks before but i think this girls got em beat...in hotness and in her screaming skills lol. Pretty good song not that great of a video. Enjoy.

Mushroomhead - Come On

This has to be the most homo-erotic video i've ever seen. Just a bunch of guys fighting and touching each other while the band members "show off" their "sweet" masks. This is a pretty horrible song with pretty horrible lyrics. I feel like all they are trying to say about this video is "Hey check out my mask....500 times! Coooool eh??"  Ehhhhhh... not so much. Gay video. Bad song. Enjoy!

And then there was that time Iron and Wine played Conan...

And it sounded a lot like this.

The Young International - "Ruckus"

This band kinda reminds me of what maroon 5 used to be. A pop rock group for more rock influence than the pop. Its a decent song, I'm not sure I could listen to it more than a couple times though. One of those that would stick in your head if you're not careful.

For Mormotron

My bro and co author of the site has been going through a rough patch as of late, so I want him in your thoughts and if you pray do that too. In the mean time lets fucking listen to some Dying Fetus. This band to me album exactly describes a band that my brother and I would laugh at, but at the same time respect for their powerful music and awesome sound. I mean the bands called Dying Fetus which is close to the rock band 'Band name' he gave us... Fetusex. Enjoy 'Your Treachery Will Die With You' and don't worry bro shit will get better soon enough!

DEATH ANGEL - 'River Of Rapture' New Video

The music in this song is awesome. I'm not too fond of the vocals, while I feel the would work well in another setting for this trash heavy music it just seems a bit out of place. That doesn't make this song any less awesome though. Listen to it loud or not at all!

Thomas Giles - 'Hypoxia'

Thomas Giles is the name used by the lead singer of Between the Buried and Me for is solo projects. The newest album is called 'pulse' and it will be available February 1st. I'm not sure how I feel about this song, but i've heard others from the album which lead me to believe it will be fantastic.

The Xcerts - 'Scatterbrain' New Video

Just in the mood for some strait up rock action? Well look no further than The Xcents. Terrible band name, pretty decent sound.  I love how it looks like the band had fun shooting this pretty low quality but great video for the tune 'Scatterbrain'. This song reminds me of a lot of the rock bands from the late 90's like Moth or My Vitriol and that's ok by me!

Ozzy - 'Let It Die' New Video

I'll tell you this about this pretty terrible song, Gus G, the guitarist is awesome. I'm sure you know of him from the band Firewind. The problem I have with this song is its way too close to being Nu Metal. I can easily see Ozzy working on this song with people from Godsmack or Staind.

The Thermals - 'Never Listen to Me' New Video

I'm trying hard to remember who this band reminds me of. I've watched the entire thing now and I can't remember, must be that the music just feel familiar which is a good thing. I'm digging the song and the video compliments it. The Thermals will released their new 7" 'Not Like Any Other Feeling' on February 15th.

Memory Tapes - 'Today is Our Life' New Song

Gorilla Vs. Bear posted this excellent song earlier today and I just had to share it. If you like this song you should check out the compliation that its featured on. Other acts like CONCRETES and Gruff Rhys have songs on it so that makes it a no brainer. You can pick up the compo HERE and listen to 'Today is Our  Life' below.

Hunx and His Punx - 'Lovers Lane' New Song

This song has such a retro sound it actually makes me laugh a bit. It might boarder on the annoying, so I'll warn you of that. Their new album entitled Too Young To Be In Love will be released in march of this year.

Times Of Grace - 'The Forgotten One' New Video

Mormotron did a review for this album earlier today. How convenient for them to post it literally hours after the review was finished. You can check out the video below and the Review HERE.

Esben and the Witch - 'Warpath'

This band makes the craziest videos. First the Marching Song, which might be the most uncomfortable video ever. Now this one. It doesn't quite shock as much as the first but its still eerie. I guess this is what it looks like to make good videos. People should take note.

Nightlands - 'All the Way'

This song is strangely uplifting. I guess its because of the soaring vocals and up beat drums. The video will not please all but its good for what it is.

The Chap - 'Breakdown' New Video

I'm waiting until after lunch to post this. I wanted to do it during for those of you who surf on your lunch break. Its an interesting song. I promise.

Times Of Grace - The Hymn Of A Broken Man

Like most of my posts I have a very hard time trying to figure out where to begin especially with this post because i've already ranted about Jesse Leach previous to this post. So I guess the best thing to do is to go straight to the album. It's been pretty hard for me to give this album a rating of my own because i can't help but compare it to everything else Jesse has done with Killswitch Engage, Seemless, The Empire Shall Fall and others. Jesse Leach to me is what Devin Townsend is to my brother. Devin is more overall talented i'll give him that but i know that anything Devin puts out my brother will love it no matter what and that's how i am with Jesse. So anyways Times Of Grace. For some reason i don't know why but i feel like this album is dated. It doesn't sound like anything new. It has a sound of maybe......2002 to me. There is nothing wrong with that at all and I can say it is very, VERY refreshing for me to hear Jesse's vocals again without me knowing every single word that is coming up. One of the main reasons I have a been a huge fan of his work is because of lyrical content. A lot of people think of metal and think that it is all about hate and pain and yada yada. Well this is true about a lot of bands but Jesse's lyrics are quite the opposite. "Darkness pass away into the light of dawn" is just one example from the song called....."FIGHT FOR LIFE" which the name of the song itself tells you something. He likes to write songs that are very uplifting to not only to himself but anyone that listens to them. He is all about fighting through things in life and becoming a better person which is awesome in my opinion. One thing i am not a huge fan on is the occasional politcal song that preaches about government and blah blah... when i am listening to my music i don't want to hear about the system and how we should all stand up to "The Man". "The Hymn Of A Broken Man"is said to be the album of Jesse's career. I feel like he definitely spent a lot of time on this record. This album is definitely more tolerable to people that aren't into metal for sure. Yes there is screaming in it and some very brutal parts but overall it's filled with many great harmonizing vocals between Jesse and Adam D. which sound fantastic together. There are even songs where it is just Adam doing lead vocals which is pretty great seeing as how Adam has a great voice and is very talented and i think it's great that he is basically doing everything on his own in a song or two although i wish the songs were a little more upbeat. One of my main problems i have had with the album is all of the songs meshing together... it's kinda hard to tell the difference in a lot of them simply because they are all set up basically the same way which I guess you'd just have to listen to too understand what I am talking about. I really don't have a favorite song on the album yet at all which kinda makes me sad. To be honest with you i don't really see myself listening to much more of this album. Yeah the music is good but it just bores me to be honest. I can honestly say that in order for this album to appeal to me they need to step it up a couple notches.. I have very mixed feelings about this album. This is the conclusion i have for the album. 1. Jesse and Adam D. are great together. 2. They both write great music. 3. It just doesn't do it for me. 4. The album is dragging the whole time for me. It's almost redneck 93.5 music to me and i can't stand that. I want to love this album but i don't see it happening. I'm going to continue to listen to it and who knows i might change my mind but for now my mind is made up. I give this album 3 generous stars out of 5.

Noah and the Whale - 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.' New Video

I'll give you one guess which rock music Icon this sounds like.... come on you can get it. Give up? John Mellencamp you loser. Its a decent song, but I'm not really a fan of the vocal styling. Kinda boring as far as songs go. Also the title is a bitch to type.

And then there was that time The Dismemberment Plan played Fallon..

and it sounded a lot like this.

Twin Shadow - 4AD Sessions

I'm struggling with what to write in this post. I feel like i should be informative and what not. I just can't be. I really like this bands sound and I feel that it translates very well live. So that's about as informative as its going to get. I'm sure you can check out more footage from the band if you follow the link on the video.

Nada Surf cover 'Enjoy the Silence'

I love this song and nothing will ever top the original, but it might be the most covered song that I've heard. Bands from Anberlin to It Dies Today have covered this song well, but seriously nothing beats the Depeche Mode version. Nada Surf does a decent job however. I'm impressed with how organic it feels.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper - 'Mammoth Swoon' Album Stream

Its been a while since I posted an album stream and I think this is a good one to post. This albums pretty out there and it won't be super accessible to everyone but for what it is its really good. I feel like this is one of those albums that might not make a ton of sense out of the context of the album itself. Meaning that its best listened to all the way through. You can visit the bands website HERE.
