HAHAHAHAHA this is Belphegor's 'Impaled Upon The Tongue Of Sathan' NSFW

You know what really pisses me off about black metal? The videos normally look like this!!! I mean its good for a laugh, but I actually kinda like this song. Why can't there be normal black metal bands?! Some that have people covered in cake and ice cream!!! Oh well I guess you take what you can get when it comes to the genre. The part when the girls covered in the guts is my favorite part!!! You can visit Bloody Disgusting for more info.

****DO NOT WATCH IF YOUR EASILY OFFENDED****

Lykke Li - 'Get Some' Live video

If you've been following my posts for a while then you will remember when I posted a video by a girl named Lykee Li called 'Get Some' where she, in very literal words, said 'I'm a prostitute your gonna get some'. Well as I figured would happen, she actually gotten a lot of media buzz surrounding her. The song 'Get Some' was even remixed by Beck. Well here she is live. Make whatever judgments you want. I don't get the hype.

Family of the Year - "Psyche or Like Scope" New Video

Spin Magazine just premiered this video and its a great one to end the week with! If you want to learn more about the band check out SPIN'S ARTICLE. I'll be checking out more from this band. This song is freakin sweet. Sounds like it might get a little old after a while, but never hurts to listen to more stuff.

And then there was the time The Walkmen played Letterman...

and it sounded a lot like this. This guy sounds a lot like the singer from star sailor which is a great band! This songs pretty good. Not listened to The Walkmen before so I can't recommend any of their albums but this songs not too bad.

Puro Instinct – 'Stilyagi' (feat. Ariel Pink)

This new song by Puro Instinct comes from the new album 'Headbangers in Ecstasy' which is an awesome title for an album by a group that does very dreamy music. The album is scheduled for a release in February and from what I've been reading it going to be a big hit. That has yet to be seen of course but it doesn't hurt to get a head start on all of your friends right?

Masterstroke - 'Walls Of My Temple' New Video

This band reminds me a lot of Firewind's sound which is a good thing. Earlier today I posted a video from a similar band and I said I didn't really like the vocals. Well if you put these in that song it would be much better. This guy has some pipes on him. The music for this song is unrelenting and heavy and it makes for a great power metal song. This Finnish band is currently recording an album to be released later this year.

Masterstroke - Walls of My Temple

Pandit – “Pack Your Bags” New Video

Pandit released this video for 'Pack Your Bags' just in time to depress everyone who hears it! Pandit's debut album Eternity Spin is scheduled for released later this year. I like the song but it does seem a bit depressing. I didn't think it could get any worse than listening to some Dashboard songs. I'm interested in more of his material though. Got to love the dream pop!

The Moondoggies - Two Songs

This bands been established for a while and while I like to let Mormotron have reign of the older music I couldn't  help but post these songs by Moondiggies. 'What Took So Long?' and 'Its's A shame, Its a Pity' are songs from the bands second album released back in October called 'Tideland'. The bands got a more traditional rock sound almost infused with elements of folk music.

'What Took So Long'

'It's a shame, It's a Pity'

Pepper Rabbit - 'Harvest Moon' New Video

Need a feel good song? Look no further than Pepper Rabbits infectious new track 'Harvest Moon'. Taken from the bands debut album 'Beauregard', the song might be on of the catchiest I've ever heard. The videos pretty interesting as well. I love how sometimes using crude techniques can look more realistic than CG effects. I'm talking about the 'floating French Horn and Guitar'. I know they used wires for some of those shots and that's awesome!

Axenstar - 'Aftermath' New Video

fire lol!
One of the great things about metal is some of the bands you've never heard of before have a crap ton of albums out. This way if you like what you hear you can visit their back catalog of material and it makes for a fun experience of enjoying a new band. I'm not a big fan of this song, but I can see what direction these guys are going in. I'm a fan of the music style as a whole I just don't feel that the vocals really add to the production. Axenstar released their fifth studio album entitled 'Aftermath' today!

This video speaks for itself.

wow

Tre Watson - 'Downfall of the Stars' New Song

The other day I was talking about instrumental metal and I don't believe this guy came up but he has a new album coming out and he makes some great metal without vocals. From what I've been reading the album itself is very heavy and dark where this song is light and while still heavy doesn't share the brutality of the rest of it. You can visit Tre Watson's band camp page HERE.

Grand Magus - 'Hammer Of The North' New Video

One of my very favorite recent listens was from this bands new album 'Hammer of the North'. The album is a lot of fun and its powerful. This bands got a lot of talent and they showcase it in a really great way. I guess you could consider Grand Magus as a viking power metal band but to me its more old school heavy metal. Even if your not a fan of metal give this one a try. I can almost guarantee  you'll like what you hear!

DOWN 'N OUTZ - 'Overnight Angels' New Video

If your like me the first thing you're going to recognize in this video is that Joe Elliot (of Def Leppard) is singing the song which is kinda stunning at first. Then further research will inform you that this has been a side project for Elliot for a little while now. To me they sound like a Def Leppard cover band, but that just might be Elliot's distinctive voice. They released an album called 'My Generation' and this song is the second single from that album.

Smith Westerns - "All Die Young" New Song

This is one album that I'll be reviewing in the near future. This band is awesome and the album is amazing. I know thats a sort of spoiler but it has to be said. The bands new album 'Dye It Blonde' will be out the 18th and you should get a copy even if you don't like this song.

Beans - 'Deathsweater' Rap Song

This song is off of the album 'End It All' which will be released in February. I've been trying to get into some types of rap music recently. While I don't like the genre for the most part I can admit when something suits me. Beans new song does that, maybe because it hits the exact marks it needs to for me to enjoy it. First of all the beat is repeated but its got enough going on that it says interesting. The chours reminds me of Pharrel Williams which is always good. The first rapper doesn't remind me of Busta Rhyme's but he does syncopate his words in a manner that reminded me of earlier Busta material. Would I ever listen to this song again? No, but you guys might so here it is...

Beans - Deathsweater by brooklynvegan

Ever wonder who sucks ass in Fall Out Boy?

Its Pete Wentz. Hes the talentless hack that brings that terrible band into abysmal territory.  This video's was presented as live performance footage of his new band Black Cards, not a video of the band live with the song dubbed over it. This wouldn't bother me if I felt the band didn't have anything to prove and that's not the case for Black Cards. This songs called 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Fame' and I think that might be one of the worst names I've heard for a song yet. I don't get any of this but if you do, kill yourself.

Akron/Family - 'So It Goes' New Crazy Video

This video and song are good for a laugh and I'm sure there's a deeper meaning behind the material. I personally don't understand it. All the imagines in this video were taken from google searches and or google tools. Its cool and the song after the first 1:10 starts to get pretty good. Its definitely one of the most unique songs I've posted. I rather enjoyed in the end.

Kurt Vile – “Jesus Fever” New Song

Here's a folksy track that will put a step in your day! Its light an airy but still has depth to it and a rolling beat. This song is on the upcoming album 'Smoke Ring For My Halo' which will be released March 8th. These last couple days have seen a lot of great indie bands. The new years always busy with news which makes my job a lot easier!!

Papercuts - 'Do What You Will' New Single

Papercut released this single in support of their upcoming album 'Fading Parade' which is set for release in early march. The band will also be on tour with Beach House starting in February. This is a great example of how to utilize the dream pop genre to its fullest, its a great song.

A City Serene - With Swords Crossed

WOW soooo is this A crappy version of The Devil Wears Prada??? WITH A TEN YEAR OLD GIRL SINGING?! I THINK SO! dear lord what the hell is this???? Enjoy.

Broadway - Same Thing We Do Everyday Pinky

Sooooo the easiest way for me to describe this band is....a mix of Coheed, Saosin, and Circa Survive... this kid sings like a 5 year old girl is what im trying to get at. The music is pretty ridiculous though, but still it's nothing that hasn't been done before. BUT if you are a fan of any of those bands then you will probably like this. Daz on the other hand would probably rip these guys a new one! haha ENJOY!

Texas In July - Hook, Line, & Sinner

Yeah this picture is pretty gay but they are pretty brutal. This song is by no means new but I like it so much more than their new stuff. Video looks like they made it in one hour but oh well. Enjoy! \m/  \m/

MGMT - Congratulations

I've seen some weird videos.....but this one is up there... if anyone knows what the hell that thing is please let me know. Enjoy.

Ray Lamontagne - Meg White

This song is kinda funny to me. I don't know if this guy has a past with Meg White or anything but the lyrics make me laugh. I'm not a huge White Stripes fan but the fact that this song talks about both Meg White and Jack is just interesting. Decent song I guess. Enjoy.

"Meg White"

Watch Iron and Wine perform their new album Live in its entirety!

The album entitled 'Kiss Each Other Clean' comes out January 25th but NPR held a live concert that was recorded and streamed over the web. You can view the concert below or go to this LINK to see it on NPR's site. I've not watched the concert for myself yet but I can tell you that this band is extremely talented and the album should fantastic.

Crown the Lost - "Separate Blood From Waste" New Song

crown the lost Pictures, Images and Photos

Here's a more traditional metal outfit that plays awesome power metal. They released the song to support their upcoming album 'Cold Pestilent Hope' which is set for released as soon as they get a label to back it and by the way this song is sounding I would not think that was far away. Take a second to visit the bands Facebook page and leave them some words of encouragement!!

RUNNER RUNER - 'Hey Alli' New Video

You know what this band does? They sit in a fucking room waiting for the precise time when a camera crew is going to artistically film them while playing a shit song. These songs make me sick and I can get down with some pretty sappy stuff. This band looks like they were created in a lab by a bunch of preteen girls or homosexual guys. This is a 'leak' so I'm sure this band has something to promote... but I aint gonna find out wut!

Ben & Vesper – “Knee-Hi Wall”

This is some good stuff. Ben & Vesper have a new album coming very soon called 'Honors' and this song showcases how well these two people work together. I love the name of the song as well, it invokes memories of Gears of War even though its not about that at all. I guess thats the game in me. You can here the song below as well as 'My Father's Eyes'. 'Honors' will drop January 25th!

Trap Them - 'The Facts' New Song

Metalsucks didn't an interesting post about this band and the song. So go HERE because its much more interesting than anything I would have to say about it! 'Darker Handcraft' is the new album and it will be released in March.

Sylosis - “Empyreal (Part 1)” New Song

This song will melt your face clear off your body! Thanks for Metalsucks for sharing this. Sylosis are releasing a new album in March and if the songs are anything like this its going to be amazing. Its not often that you get a trashy song that has such tight musicianship. The new album entitled 'Edge of the Earth' is out March 11th via Nuclear Blast.

Seagull - 'Tea' New Video

Tea is the third single from the album Council Tree released last year. I've heard some of Seagulls previous works and was a fan of that. This is the first I'm hearing of the new material and its sounding as good as it ever was. Seagull is the perfect name for this band because of the light nature of the music. You can find out more information about the band HERE.

Electric Wizard – “Turn Off Your Mind” New Song

I've heard the entire album 'Black Masses' and its like a blast from the past. Its very Sabbath very dark and heavy but in the old school sense. I saw the album on a bunch of top 10 lists from the year and its in those lists for very good reason. These songs are beautifully done and masterfully recorded. If you've been longing for some heavy metal like the forefathers did then look no further than Electric Wizard. 'Black Masses' will be released on the 18th of this month!

'Turn Off Your Mind'

Baman & Piderman

Have you ever wondered how a 5 year old YOU would reenact Batman and Spider man and their adventures together? Well Alex Butera and Mondo have wondered it for you and then illustrated it and then put voices to it. You may not find it funny at first, but you really should watch all the episodes in a row. The simple touches to the story actually make for a compelling watch.... nawp I'm just kidding this shits funny! I love the way Piderman web slings around. Thanks to Jamie for showing me this!

Shugo Tokumaru – “Linne” New Video

I'll be the first to say that Japanese music doesn't normally interest me much. Of course when I think about it I'm thinking of anime, which has some of the worst songs ever. It seems that the Japanese aren't down with actually holding a tune. Of course that's wrong in every way and Shugo Tokumaru (say that in your head) proves it with his great mash of western and eastern sounds. Hes a great singer and even though I can't understand the words I understand the feeling and that is more rewarding. This song is from his newest album 'Port Entropy'

Ruby Coast - 'Whatever this Is' Album Preview

You can listen to two songs from the Toronto based bands upcoming album below. You can also find out more about the band by visiting their Facebook page. I'm really digging these tracks, the albums shaping up to be amazing and I can't wait to hear more! If you want to hear more from the band you can go to their bandcamp page

Only Rocco La BĂȘte could make 'Whip My Hair' enjoyable!

It doesn't mater if you know this man has Brett Domino or Rocco La BĂȘte I think you have to submit to his awesomeness! I've actually been able to stomach songs that he's done from some of the worst artist's out there right now including Kesha, Justin Beiber, and Lady GaGa. If you guys aren't following this man you're outta your minds! DO IT NOW!

Star Slinger - 'Rogue Cho Pa' EP

Here is the stream for the UK producers closet of material. Star Slinger just released an EP called 'Rogue Cho Pa'. I'm not a big fan of  dance music but isn't too bad. 'Do It Myself' has sounds of porn in the back ground, so be mindful whilst at work. You can download the entire EP HERE

Rogue Cho Pa EP by Star Slinger

A Day To Remember - “All I Want”

Wow theres a lot of cameo's in this video. People I recognized were Andrew WK, Mike Herrera of MxPx, Matt Heafy of Trivium. I'm not a big fan of A Day To Remember but I dig this video. I think its cool that they used bands they liked and artist who inspire them. You win this round you pop punk bastards! This track come from the bands album What 'Separates Me From You'

Pete And The Pirates – “Winter 1″

Here's a song from the bands forthcoming album set to be released in May. Kinda odd that its talking about wintertime with a album released in May but I'll go for it. This album will be the bands first since their debut album in 08 entitled 'Little Death'. The yet unnamed album is said to be a little lighter than their previous material. I wouldn't know because this is the first I'm hearing of them.

Effin White Mages!!!

This might be one of my favorite Dorkly Bits of all time!!! I agree, white mages suck!

Amanda Palmer - 'Map of Tasmania' New Single.

Amanda Palmer from The Dresden Doll and other acts released a new track today and the inspiration for the newest effort by miss Palmer is Australia? Apparently Palmer went to record the album in both Australia and New Zealand and was inspired by what she saw and heard. She covers Australian artists Nick Cave and Peter Jefferies as well.

The New Destroyer Video! and it makes me smile.

This video really sums up my life. I'm a geek living in a virtual world. Not really, but this video does an amazing job of recreating that. It also uses some crazy visuals and situations. Destroyer isn't a band I've spent a lot of time listening to because they kinda freak me out but the bands talents can't be ignored. You can view the video below, as always!

Destroyer - Kaputt from Merge Records on Vimeo.

36 Crazyfists - 'Reviver' New Video

I've been listening to 36 Crazyfist since their debut album back in 02. That's almost 10 years of Crazyfist's material and unlike many of the bands that are still around from that time period they are the only ones who have stayed the same. Sure the sound has had tweaks here and there but most of them are production driven and not sound. This new song posted by Metal Hammer continues that trend of make music that is very Crazyfist and not just another hard rock band.

The Get Up Kids - 'Shatter Your Lungs' New Song

Not sure how I feel about this song. It seems like something I would like, but for some reason it doesn't grab me. It might come from listening to so much stuff in one day for the site. The song just kinda seems boring to me. It also doesn't feel like it took 5 guys to record this song. I've heard more epic songs from one guy. I hope you get some enjoyment from the song. The band will release their new album 'There Are Rules' at the end of the month.

Metal Mountains - 'Golden Trees' New Song

The name of this band maybe Metal Mountains but they as far from metal as you can get. This group does psychedelic folk music? Thats what it sounds like anyways. Their debut album will be released at the end of the month and its called 'Structures In The Sun'. I think this band shows promise, I'm not sure I could take the style of music for more than a song or two but its at least an interesting style.

Bad Rabbits - 'Sextape' (Deftones Cover)

Heavy Blog Is Heavy posted this and I just couldn't ignore the urge to post it as well. 'Sextape' is an amazing song of my favorite album of 2010 and this band Bad Rabbits does a great job at covering it. Its not as original as I like to hear from cover material but there's something about the way the singers vocals go with the music, almost like Chino knew this guy would sing it one day. You can follow the link above to see more Deftones covers.

The Joy Formidable - 'Austere' New Video

The Joy Formidable are a Welsh band who have a heavy indie rock sound. This song makes me thing that seeing the band live might be really fun. Its got just the right amount of heavy in it where even the most vagina of you can bang your head even a part with the double bass drum. So think of it as a indie rock band with the heart of a hard rock band. There new album is called 'The big Roar' and it will be released in March. I'm a fan of the album name, it just sounds cool.

Grouplove - 'Colours' New Video

Spin Magazine premiered this video today and I've got to say the songs interesting. Its got the same feel as a pop punk song and I feel the band borrows the look from those bands but its decidedly not pop punk. Its worth listing to. If your interested in the band, the link above has lots more information on the band itself.

And then there was that time Local Natives played Fallon...

and it sounded a lot like this! This might be the best performance I've seen on a evening talk show EVER. Seriously it's really good. Its nice that there are shows that are show casing these bands now. Bringing the music to a larger audience is important. I may not like Fallon but I like what hes doing with his show, if he has the creative control.
