Barenaked Ladies - "All In Good Time" Review

For the past couple days I've been writing and erasing and then rewriting and the erasing yet again a review for the Barenaked Ladies new album "All In Good Time". I struggled so much because I feel the album is complete trash. I couldn't be objective when listening to it because I already wasn't a fan of Barenaked Ladies in the first place. I just didn't feel right calling it complete trash without having something to compare it to. Well believe it or not a former "BNL" is the one who showed me that its OK to hate "BNL" and his solo stuff. That person is Steven Page.

Until mid 2009 Page was the co lead singer of Barenaked Ladies since they started out back in the late 90's. He left the band to purse a solo career, which was stupid I must add. What makes "BNL" "unique" are the vocal styles of Page and Ed Robertson. When you take away one of those voices the entire experience would suffer. Oh and it suffers and it doesn't suffer very well.. "All In Good Time" is one of the worst records I've ever heard. Its completely unoriginal and uninspired. The songs are bland and predictable and the sound is more than dated. Steven Pages song that I'm linking in the video IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING. In fact I would venture to say that it might be one of the most stereotypical solo project songs of all time. Back up singers with soul???...check. Oooo Ooooo OOoooo's in the beginning of the song??... check. Happy chipper "I don't need those other guys smug attitude???.... Check. HORRIBLE SONG??? Check! I'm not even going to ask you to play the video. Why? Because you'll most likely like the song you sheep. I guess if your into punishing yourself as I have you can give them a try.

I give Steven Page's single and Barenaked Ladies "All In Good Time" 1 band that shouldn't exist anymore out of 5
